We named our company after the symbol of China -- Yangtze River, which stretches thousands of miles from west to east across China. Yangtze Agribusiness Group is a joint venture established by China’s leading private companies, New Hope Agribusiness Holding Company and CREAT Group Corp. and two state-owned companies, China Antaeus Company and Lianyungang Ideal Group Corp., and a top agricultural education and research university – Nanjing University of Agriculture.

Yangtze Group was formed by the five partners to enhance China’s green food production capability and effectively meet the ever increasing demand for vegetables and other food products by Japan, other Western countries, and China's domestic market as well. The Ideal Group, a founding partner of the Yangtze Group, went public in November 1996 and became the first agricultural company listed in China’s stock exchanges (the company is listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange).

The Ideal Group was China’s number one supplier of fresh and quick frozen vegetable and fruits to Japan for many years. The Yangtze Group has built on that success and now proudly supplies healthy, natural and nutritious vegetables, fruits, aquatic products and other food products to customers worldwide. The group specializes in fresh, frozen, dehydrated and canned vegetables and fruits and juice – and supplies products of more than 200 varieties of 10 classification.

Yangtze Group’s business covers production, manufacturing, processing, export & import, chain-marketing and transportation service. It is engaged in vegetable production on more than 200,000 hectare of land in 16 provinces and cites encompassing every climatic zone throughout China. It owns more than 30 plants, 18 newly imported production lines for vegetable processing, 4 canned food production lines, 2 packing systems and 20 refrigerated warehouses. The major production bases are mechanized. Yangtze’s factories have earned ISO 9002 certification, thereby further demonstrating our commitment to quality products. In 1996, Yangtze’s output exceeded 80,000 tons.

In a recent interview by the Chief Editor of Quick Frozen Food International, a US magazine, Mr. Shi Shoujiang, President of Yangtze Group said, "If we can succeed in quality-conscious Japan, I see no reason why we can’t increasingly supply items that may be in short supply to other countries around the world." Frozen Food Age magazine, in a comment by the veteran of Birds Eye and All American Gourmet, Mr. Michael J. Fluchere, reported "When China fully awakens and starts producing vegetables with strong demand in the Western world… watch out! The Chinese are really waking up and producing a variety of low-cost items. There is a lot more coming out of there than just water chestnuts, peapods and bamboo shoots".
Yangtze is not just waking up. It is now looking West for larger markets. Based on our successful business with Japan and our quality products, we are confident that Yangtze Group will grow rapidly in new markets.
